Photos of Pen y Gaer

Battleground by theholyllama

A short bike ride out of Brecon brings you to Pen-y-Crug (331m), on the summit of which are the extensive earthworks of a huge Iron Age hillfort. Here are the earthworks on the south side of the fort, with the Brecon Beacons beyond. There is another hillfort on the hill in the middle distance to the right of this shot, and on that hill's furthest slopes are the remains of a large Roman fort at Y Gaer (Cicvcivm). This is an area that has been fought over for centuries.
Pen y Gaer is a tourist attraction, one of the Arheološka nalazišta in Llanbedr, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo. It is located: 192 km from Liverpool, 466 km from Birmingham, 476 km from Dublin. Read further
