The stunning air racing Mustang "Precious Metal" pictured at its home base at Kissimmee on 31 August 2015. Fitted with a 3,200hp Rolls Royce Griffon engine from a Shackleton maritime patrol aircraft with contra-rotating propellers, the aircraft was being readied for the Reno Air Races and duly departed on 8 September. Unfortunately, during a refuelling stop later that day at Marianna Municipal Airport, Jackson County, a fuel leak led to a fire which caused substantial damage to the airframe and Thom Richard, the pilot and owner, declared her flying days over.
