Le Port | Place Garibaldi
Built from 1773 to 1784 according to architect Antoine Spinelli's designs, it is the oldest main square of the city and one of its iconic locations.
Place Pairoliera was its first name and in September 13, 1870, on a proposal from the prefect Baragnon, it acquired its present name of Place Garibaldi, in honor of the Italian general and politician, born in Nice, Giuseppe Garibaldi.
